Al-Qassam Brigade: Al-Aqsa Storm Operations Go As Planned

JAKARTA - Al-Qassam's Brigade, the armed wing of the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas said Operation Hurricane Al-Aqsa was going according to plan to hold Israel accountable for its aggression.

"The Operation of Hurricane Al-Aqsa is going according to plan," a spokesman for the group, Abu Ubaida, said in a statement, according to the Al-Aqsa satellite channel affiliated with Hamas, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 7.

He stated that through this attack, "Palestinian resistance was carried out to hold Israel accountable for its aggression against the Al-Aqsa holy Mosque and detained Palestinian fighters."

"This is a historic opportunity to defeat the occupation," the spokesman continued, calling on Palestinians in the West Bank and inside Israel to "involve in fighting."

The Al-Qassam Brigade announced the start of the "Al-Aqsa Storm Operation" with rocket attacks targeting several enemy locations, airports, and military installations.

Israel declared in "war-ready conditions" after several Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip fired a series of rockets on Saturday morning into Israeli territory, according to a report by the Israel Broadcasting Authority.

The rocket salvo was fired from several different locations in the enclave but Israel's Iron Dome defense system intercepted many of the attacks, according to Anadolu correspondent.

Reportedly, 20 Israelis have been killed and more than 540 others injured since Saturday morning in rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, according to media reports.

"Israel deployed its troops to deal with the preparation of Palestinian gunmen from Gaza," the Army Radio continued.

Dozens of Israeli warplanes attacked 21 Hamas sites in Gaza, according to Israeli soldiers in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Al-Quds Brigade claims to have arrested a number of Israeli soldiers in Gaza.
