Police Dismantle Sales Of Tens Of Thousands Of Botols Of Fake Oil In Palangka Raya
PALANGKA RAYA - Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Central Kalimantan Police uncovered a case of selling tens of thousands of bottles of oil or fake lubricants located in two locations in Palangka Raya, by arresting five suspects.
Kasubdit I Indagsi Ditreskrimsus Polda Kalteng AKBP Telly Alvin in Palangka Raya, Friday, said the five suspects in the sale of the fake oil or lubricant were four men with the initials MR (34), TAS (48), HF (31), RD (26) and a woman with the initials A (33).
"They were arrested in two different locations, namely for MR to be secured on Jalan Wortel, Panarung Village, Jekan Raya District at the Galaxi Prima Nusantara and BAT, A, HF and RD store, arrested at the shop owned by brother Asang Jalan Seth Adji, the parent of Citra, Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City," said Telly Alvin, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 6.
He explained that the arrests of the perpetrators were of course after his party received information regarding this matter. Then on Monday, September 25, 2023 at around 15.00 WIB after conducting an investigation, members managed to arrest MR.
Then on Saturday 30 September 2023 at around 14.00 WIB managed to catch BAG, A, HF and RD without any resistance. Even the members at the two locations finally confiscated 11,867 bottles containing oil or lubricants.
"For the modus operandi carried out by the suspects, namely, they trade oil or lubricants that are suspected of not meeting or not in accordance with the required standards and the provisions of the invitation laws and regulations in the Palangka Raya City area," he said.

The suspects are subject to Article 62 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 Paragraph (1) Letter A of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and or Article 54 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas.
"For the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of five years or a maximum fine of Rp. 2 billion," he explained.
The police are still investigating the oil distributor or lubricant whose information is outside Java Island, because the item was dropped at a port in South Kalimantan and taken to Central Kalimantan.
