Mazda Gives Refreshment To MX-5, Starting To Be Sold In Early 2024

JAKARTA - Mazda recently revealed a complete update to the MX-5 Roadster and RF GT. The company says that this car offers the excitement of a different driving experience.

The automotive company provides this latest MX-5 with a DSC-Track stability control system and a recently developed Asymmetric Limited Differential Slip feature.

Reporting from Drive, Thursday, October 5, the DSC-Track feature functions as vehicle control that makes it easy for drivers to control their vehicles with different driving tastes.

Meanwhile, the Asymmetric Limited Slip Differential feature acts as stabilizing the vehicle when maneuvering by varying the slip barrier style on differential teeth in response to vehicle acceleration and deceleration.

Simply put, this system increases vehicle stability as it slows down at the corner, thus helping drivers pass through it more smoothly and linearly. Mazda said the increase was realized in both the everyday normal driving scenario, both on the streets or in the race track.

The small update was also presented at the MX-5, covering the headlights and backs with new LED characteristics compared to the previous version. They also revealed the latest 17-inch rim design for all variants.

For MX-5 RF GT has a black roof that can be selected with tan skin for the first time, featuring a double sewing coating covering the cabin room of the vehicle.

The interior is slightly modified with a premium touch, but more practical than ever. For example, Mazda reduces friction on steering and electric steering racks that make it easier to operate to be more agile and precise. The model has also been equipped with the latest infotainment system with the Mazda Connect available on-screen of 8.8 inches.

Despite undergoing changes to several aspects, the company based in Hiroshima, Japan, still maintains its previous engine in the latest MX-5. The couple roadster car is equipped with a 2.0 liter Skyactiv-G engine measuring 181 dk and 205 Nm torque.

The manufacturer priced from US$41,370 or around Rp.410.7 million for the basic variant to the highest reaching 55,990 AUS dollars or equivalent to Rp. 555.7 million. All MX-5 variants will go on sale in early 2024 in the Australian market.
