Hot Weather Makes Riders Feel Burned, MotoGP India Cuts 3 Lap

JAKARTA - The 13th MotoGP series that took place in India experienced a slight technical change. Extreme hot weather turned out to have an effect on the condition of the riders and reduced the number of laps or turns in this series.

India's MotoGP main race took place on Sunday, September 24 afternoon WIB, but there were complaints that emerged from the riders after undergoing free training on Friday, 22.

After crossing the Buddh Circuit for 70 minutes, drivers feel that their bodies are on fire. That's because the weather in northern India is quite high, reaching 37 degrees Celsius.

Ducati's racer Francesco Bagnaia even admitted that he felt burned in part of the body due to the hot weather in India.

"This is worse than in Malaysia," Bagnaia was quoted as saying by GPone, Sunday, September 24.

"With Ducati usually we don't have certain problems, but now I feel like I'm burning on my back, you're starting to feel a burning throat, your feet are on fire," Bagnaia added.

Responding to the complaint, the number of laps in the MotoGP race was decided to be cut. The sprint race, which was held on Saturday, was cut by one lap, from 12 to 11 laps.

The main race, which was originally 24 laps, will now be held for 21 laps. The race in the two classes below MotoGP was also cut.

Moto3 and Moto2 have cut one lap each. Moto3 from 17 laps to 16 laps, while Moto2 from 19 to 18 laps.

Apart from this policy, India's MotoGP main race at the Buddh Circuit could be a gap for VR46 rider Bezzecki who will start from the first position. While behind him trailing Jorge Martin from Pramac, while defending champion Bagnaia in third place.
