Teenager Thief Rp25 Million In Mamuju Arrested, Crime Results Help Pay Parents' Debt To Foya-foya

Mamuju Police, West Sulawesi revealed a theft case at a shop house (ruko) by arresting a teenager.

"The theft at Hj Anani's shop in Tasiu, Kalukku District, Mamuju Regency, was successfully revealed less than four hours after the incident was reported," said Head of Public Relations of the Mamuju Police, Ipda Herman Basir, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 22.

The perpetrator of the theft with the initials AR (16), said Herman Basir, was an employee of the Hj Anani store.

"So, the perpetrator is an employee of the shop and acts when the shop is empty," said Herman Basir.

In the action, the perpetrator, said the Head of Public Relations, entered the shop through an air vent and then stole money from a shop drawer of Rp. 25 million.

"The perpetrator committed the theft alone. AR took action when he found out that Dasriana's shop was empty and then launched the action by climbing into the shop through the ventilation hole on the second floor of the shop," explained Herman Basir.

From the results of the follow-up examination by Herman Basir, the perpetrator admitted that the stolen money was used to help his parents who were in debt.

"The perpetrator admitted that the stolen money was used to help his parents, who are currently in debt and the money is also used to buy used motorcycles, cell phones, motorcycle equipment and the rest is used for fun," he explained.

The perpetrator along with evidence, in the form of used motorbikes purchased from stolen money, motorcycle equipment, cell phones and the rest of the stolen money, said the Head of Public Relations, has now been secured at the Mamuju Police Headquarters.

The perpetrator, continued Herman Basir, is still under intensive examination and has been named a suspect under Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
