Burned National Museum Collection Objects Mentioned Only In The Form Of Replica
JAKARTA - The fire incident at Building A of the National Museum of Indonesia continues to be an interesting discussion. In fact, the museum management was asked by the public to reveal transparently what objects and collections I was affected by the fire.
Acting (Plt) Head of the Public Service Agency for Museums and Cultural Heritage (BLU MCB), Ahmad Mahendra, emphasized that the location of the 6 burning rooms was the place for the existence of a replica of a partial museum collection object.
"This means that the replica is a clone of the original, the object itself may not necessarily be in the National Museum. Because it may be important," Ahmad Mahendra told reporters at the Indonesian National Museum fire site, Sunday, September 17.
Ahmad said the current situation in the object of Building A area of the National Museum of Indonesia was under control.
"The fire was gone. The fire department and the police last night worked quickly so that the fire could be extinguished quickly and did not spread anywhere," he said.
Although Mahendra said that some of the replica objects were burned, he was reluctant to explain in detail what he meant.
"We have not been able to calculate (the burning object). It is not certain (the number of burned ones). The losses cannot be calculated. We are still waiting for the Forensic Laboratory," he said.
Previously, it was reported that after the fire incident, the Indonesian National Museum (MNI) would temporarily close museum activities. The closure is carried out until an undetermined time limit.

Meanwhile, further information regarding tickets that have been purchased by the public, continued Mahendra, will be returned because there is a state of kahar (fire incident).
"Due to this state of concern, the tickets that have been purchased will be returned. Further information regarding the refund process will be submitted as soon as we have clearer guidance," he said in an official statement received by VOI, Sunday, September 17.
