Tanjung District Court In South Kalimantan Free Sentences Defendant In Narcotics Alleged Case
SOUTH KALIMANTAN - Defendant YA (51) in the alleged narcotics abuse case was acquitted. YES, it was proven that he did not keep, owned and consumed narcotics found by the police at the scene.
"The articles alleged in the trial were not proven and the defendant YA was acquitted," said Tanjung District Court (PN) spokesman Agrina Ika Cahyani in Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel), Friday, September 8, as reported by Antara.
Both Article 114 paragraph 1 and Article 112 paragraph 1 of the drug crime alleged by the public prosecutor (JPU) against the defendant YA, a resident of Purui Village, Jaro District, Tabalong Regency, were not proven.
This means that the methamphetamine found by the police at the scene of the case did not belong to the defendant, but belonged to Defendant B, who had been sentenced to 5.5 years by the Tanjung District Court.
Agrina explained that this narcotics case involved two people, namely YA and his colleague B. However, the defendant YA did not know that his colleague brought methamphetamine when he visited the house.
His colleague B, who came to YA's house, intended to invite the defendant YA to consume methamphetamine and when he wanted to remove the illicit goods from his pocket, suddenly came a member of the Narcotics Unit.
"The defendant YA only found out that his colleague B was carrying methamphetamine after the police found it under the house," added Agrina.

Agrina added that the public prosecutor is still thinking about the appeal or not after the defendant's acquittal, YA.
