Fugitive Dito Mahendra Arrested In His Escape Outside Jakarta
JAKARTA - Investigators from the Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) Bareskrim Polri have arrested fugitives for possession of illegal firearms from Dito Mahendra who escaped since being named a suspect in April 2023. Director of General Crimes (Dittipidum) Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro when asked about the news answered by asking for prayers for his smooth return to Jakarta. "Please pray, I will return to Jakarta today," wrote Djuhandhani Friday, September 8. It is estimated that Dito Mahendra's arrest occurred outside the Jakarta area. Investigators are on their way back to Jakarta after the news of the arrest was published. Djuhandhani did not deny when the answer regarding the news of Dito Mahendra's arrest was interpreted as having been correctly arrested and published by the media. He answered by giving a thumbs up sticker as a sign of agreement.
"Ok," wrote Djuhandhani.
Since being named a suspect after a case title was carried out on April 17, 2023, Dito Mahendra was never present at the summons as a witness or suspect so that investigators published a wanted list (DPO) on May 2, 2023. Dito Mahendra who was named a suspect based on the results of the case title on April 17, 2023 related to alleged criminal violations of Article 1 paragraph (1) of Law Number 12 of 1951. In this case, investigators made Police Report Number: LP/A/5/V/2023/SPKT.DITTIPIDUM/BARESKRIM POLRI dated May 20, 2023 related to hiding suspects as regulated in Article 221 of the Criminal Code. Bareskrim Polri investigators found allegations of criminal acts in the discovery of 15 firearms at Dito Mahendra's house by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) during a search Monday (13/3). Of the 15 firearms, nine units do not have documents or ownership permits as regulated by the Police.
