The Budget Ceiling Of The Ministry Of Trade Decreased By Rp493 Billion, Zulhas Expressed Its Impact

JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan revealed that the Ministry of Trade's budget has decreased in 2024. The budget decreased by Rp493 billion from the previous year.

"The Ministry of Trade's budget ceiling is Rp1,954,667,229, the budget ceiling has decreased by Rp493 billion, so it has decreased by almost Rp500 billion," he said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Monday, September 4.

The details are Rp1,361,196,139 for the management support program. Then, Rp276,251,304 for domestic trade. Then, Rp317,219,786 for foreign trade.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas said the reduction in the budget ceiling was based on a joint letter from the Minister of Finance and the Minister of National Development Planning.

In his presentation, Zulhas explained that the Ministry of Trade's budget fell by 20.17 percent from the 2023 budget.

Furthermore, Zulhas said the budget reduction would have an impact on the Ministry of Trade's Foreign Trade Attache budget.

"Our budget has decreased from almost Rp. 2.5 trillion, now Rp. 1.9 trillion is actually the concern for the friends who are the Attaches in the 56 countries, it's a pity," he explained.
