Kendari City Government Will Implement The Tolaki Local Content Curriculum
KENDARI - The City Government (Pemkot) of Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), through the Youth and Sports Education Office will implement the Free Learning Curriculum, namely the local content of the Tolaki regional language at the Elementary School (SD) and Junior High School (SMP) levels.
Head of the Kendari City Education, Youth and Sports Office, Saemina, said the curriculum had been developed by academics, supervisors with the Principal of Elementary and Middle Schools in Kendari City.
"This curriculum is well-ordered, with the hope that we can immediately realize it in an education unit," said Saemina during the socialization of the Independent Curriculum for Local Loading, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 31.
He also revealed that the Local Content Curriculum is important because it contains local wisdom in the Kendari City area. Local content is applied with the aim of introducing to every student of the regional environment and participating in preserving regional culture.
Acting Mayor of Kendari Asmawa Tosepu said this Local Charge learning was part of an effort to preserve national culture.

"By preserving local culture, it will automatically strengthen the fundamentals of national culture, because local culture is a pillar of national culture itself," said Asmawa Tosepu.
In addition, said the mayor, local culture needs to be understood by children, especially at the elementary and junior high school levels who will face the globalization era. For this reason, he appreciated the steps taken by the Education, Youth and Sports Office, together with the local content development team for these efforts.
