Ministry Of Transportation Opens Voice About Jabodebek LRT Brakes Feeling Rude

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) opened its voice about discussing the braking system at the Jabodebek LRT which felt rough when the train stopped at the station.

The Director General (Dirjen) of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation, Risal Wasal, denied that the newly inaugurated mode of transportation braking system was rough. Risal explained that it was part of Grade of Auotmation level 3 or GoA3.

Reporting from the official website of PT KAI (Persero), GoA3 is the level of train operational automation where operation is carried out automatically without a driver, but requires that there are still operational officers on the train for handling emergency conditions and services to customers.

The use of GoA 3 for the Jabodebek LRT has been determined by the Ministry of Transportation through the Decree of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number KP 765 of 2017

"Not rude, that's what GoA3 is called. Because it is operated by a kind of operator, it requires tolerance both in its system and in the infrastructure of its trains," he said at the Jabodebek Dukuh Atas LRT Station, Monday, August 28.

Even so, Risal said that his party would improve the Jabodebek LRT braking system so that the terrace would be smoother.

"In the future, we will try to smooth it down. It will be smoother for sure," he said.

Meanwhile, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono who participated in testing the Jabodebek LRT with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also felt the excitement of the very strong brake pull.

"If you stop being a little'short'. But maybe over time you can (smoother)," said Basuki.
