Starting Operations Today, Jabodebek LRT Fares Discounted by 78 Percent
JAKARTA - The government will apply a Jabodebek LRT tariff promo in the framework of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).
The promo that applies is a discount of 78 percent which is realized in a flat rate of IDR 5,000.
The 78 percent discount promo applies to all cross-services. This promo is also valid from the time it was inaugurated until the end of September 2023.
It is planned that the Jabodebek LRT will operate today.
Henceforth, in order to encourage people's interest in switching to using mass transportation instead of private vehicles and to introduce the Greater Jakarta LRT, the Ministry of Transportation has prepared a maximum promo rate scheme of Rp. 20,000 for the farthest distance, and below Rp. 20,000 for other than the farthest distance, until the end of February 2024.
KAI Main Director Didiek Hartantyo said LRT Jabodebek customers get subsidized ticket prices from the government through the Ministry of Transportation.
"The goal is to attract the public's interest in using public transportation at a more affordable cost," said Didiek, in an official statement, Monday, August 28.
The Jabodebek LRT fare has been stipulated through the Decree of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number KM 67 of 2023 concerning Tariffs for People Transportation by Integrated Light Rail in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi Areas to Carry Out Public Service Obligations.
Based on this regulation, the basic fare for the Jabodebek LRT is set to start at IDR 5,000 for the first 1 km, and has an additional IDR 700 per Km thereafter.
"The presence of the Jabodebek LRT is expected to be a solution to congestion in Jakarta and its surroundings. Later there will be 434 Jabodebek LRT trips ready to serve passengers every day. The capacity of one Jabodebek LRT series can accommodate up to 1,308 passengers," said Didiek.
In total there are 31 train sets or series of trains that will be prepared, with details for operational purposes there are 27 train sets and 4 train sets will be used as reserves. Each Jabodebek LRT trainset consists of 6 trains.
Jabodebek LRT serves the public in 18 stations that connect the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi areas. These stations are Dukuh Atas Station, Setiabudi, Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Pancoran, Cikoko, Ciliwung, Cawang, TMII, Kampung Rambutan, Ciracas, Harjamukti, Halim, Jatibening Baru, Cikunir I, Cikunir II, West Bekasi, and Jati Mulya.

Later when it is fully operational, the Jabodebek LRT operational time will start at 05.00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) to 23.30 p.m. WIB. There are 2 travel lines, namely the Cibubur Line which passes Dukuh Atas-Cawang Station-Harjamukti Station/pp and the Bekasi Line which passes Dukuh Atas-Cawang-Halim-Jatimulya Station/pp.
The public can use the Jabodebek LRT easily through non-cash payments such as Banking Electronic Money Cards (BRI, BNI, Bank Mandiri, BTN, BCA, and Bank DKI Jakarta), Multi Trip KAI Commuter Cards, Scan Qris, Link Aja, and KAI PAY.
Through harmonious cooperation, said Didiek, KAI together with the Government and other stakeholders are committed to providing the best service for the people of Indonesia.
"As one of the concrete manifestations of this collaboration is the implementation of the Jabodebek LRT transportation service which is here to provide convenience and smooth community mobilization," he concluded.
