Tongkang RMKE's Content Volume Soared 48.1 Percent, Highest During Operations
PT RMK Energy Tbk recorded the largest cargo since operating, namely loading 887,500 MT of coal to the barge in July 2023, or soaring 48.1 percent of the MoM.
The company has loaded 664 barges with a capacity of 5.2 million MT of coal, or an increase of 31.4 percent year on year (yoy) July 2023.
Until July 2023, the company also managed to dismantle 2,867 trains with a cargo of 7.5 million MT or an increase of 20.5 percent yoy.
The operational performance of the unloading of trains and loading coal barges has reached the target in 2023 of 60.4 percent and 47.7 percent, respectively.
The Company's Director of Operations, William Saputra, said that the company's operational performance in the coal services segment grew much higher than the average monthly operating performance in the first half of this year and was the highest monthly volume since RMKE was operational.
"With this achievement, we are increasingly optimistic to optimize a much better performance in the remainder of the second semester of this year," said Wiliam, Wednesday, August 23.
He added that the increase in operational performance from the coal service segment could not be separated from the on-time performance (OTP) of unloading trains which were much faster by 40 minutes to 3 hours 25 minutes per train compared to the train unloading time in the same period last year 4 hours 6 minutes.
The use of fuel increased by 22.2 percent in line with the increase in coal transportation volume, but the ratio of fuel use per MT of coal remained more efficient from 0.93 liters/MT last year to 0.87 liters/MT this year or more efficiently by 7 percent yoy at 7M2023 and more efficiently at 23.1 percent MoM June 2023.

From the coal sales segment, the Company sold 149,400 MT of coal in July 2023, an increase of 22.8 percent of MoM.
The growth in coal sales volume is supported by the growth in production of in-house mines, PT Truba Bara Banyu Enim (TBBE) which produces 790,300 MT of coal or an increase of 32.7 percent YoY YTD July 2023.
