Celebrate 78 Years Of Independence, Here Are 5 BRI Contributions

JAKARTA - Still with the euphoria of celebrating the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI makes an optimal contribution to help build the people's economy and encourage Indonesia to progress.

BRI President Director Sunarso revealed that BRI does business with the people and is processed by way of the people.

BRI's profits are returned to the people through taxes and dividends. Because they work with the people, are managed by way of the people, and the benefits are returned to the people through various programs for the community," explained Sunarso.

Sunarso added that in the midst of economic recovery conditions, BRI has succeeded in providing meaning to all stakeholders through the creation of economic value and social value by maintaining the Company's performance fundamentals so that it can continue to grow in a healthy, strong, and sustainable manner. The following are at least 5 achievements and contributions from BRI to the country and society of Indonesia.

First, BRI's contribution To State Revenue Through Dividends And Taxes Reaches IDR 140.5 Trillion In The Last 5 Years

BRI recorded dividend and tax deposits of up to Rp140.5 trillion in the last five years (2018-2022). This value consists of dividends paid to the Government amounting to Rp49.4 trillion, corporate income tax paid to the government amounting to Rp50.6 trillion, cutting / levy income tax and VAT Bea & Materai paid to the Government amounting to 40.5 trillion.

In detail, the amount of dividends and taxes deposited to the state continues to increase from year to year, amounting to IDR 24.3 trillion in 2018, then increasing to IDR 26.6 trillion in 2019. Back to IDR 28.4 trillion in 2020, in 2021 it will increase to IDR 27.1 trillion, and in 2022, the amount of dividends and taxes deposited by BRI will reach IDR 34.2 trillion.

Second, the Establishment Of Ultra Micro Holding Has Provided Financial Access To 36 Million Customers

Since its official establishment in September 2021, Ultra Micro Holding (UMi) consisting of 3 (three) corporate entities, namely PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk as the parent company, as well as other entities PT Pegadaian, and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) continues to integrate and develop the national ultra micro business ecosystem through the provision of the widest access to financial services for the community.

With the number of SENYUM co-locations ( Ultra Micro Service Centers) totaling 1,013 offices, followed by the number of recorded Ultra Micro Holding customers continues to increase. Until the end of March 2023, Ultra Micro Holding customers who were successfully integrated from all three entities had reached 36 million, or an increase of 19.6 percent on an annual basis.

Third, Increase Financial Inclusion, Number Of BRILink Agents Reaches 666 Thousand Jangkau 59 Thousand Villages

BRI continues to be committed to developing and optimizing the deployment of BRILink agents throughout Indonesia to the furthest point. This form of commitment can be seen from the number of BRILink Agents which continues to grow and even exceed the target.

As is known, the number of Agent BRILink in the second quarter of 2023 has reached more than 666 thousand agents reaching more than 59,705 villages throughout Indonesia.

Fourth, Bank BRI managed to record BRI Sustainability industrial credit reaching IDR 710.9 trillion

BRI recorded that it had disbursed a sustainable loan or sustainability credit worth IDR 710.9 trillion in the first quarter of 2023 or grew 11.1 percent on an annual basis (yoy) over the same period in 2022.

In addition, in terms of funding, in 2019 BRI has issued a sustainability bond of USD 500 million. Furthermore, BRI issued a green bond of IDR 5 trillion in 2022. Still in 2022, BRI issued a sustainability-linked loan worth USD 1 billion, in line with its business focus on increasing lending to MSMEs, especially the micro and ultra micro segments.

And finally, BRI noted that BRImo has been used by 27.8 million Indonesians

Indonesian people's trust in BRImo super apps is shown from the number of users who have now reached 27.8 million users or grew 50.5 percent yoy. As of June 2023 or in 6 months, the number of transactions at BRImo has reached 1.3 billion transactions or grew 89.6 percent yoy, with transaction volume touching IDR 1,895 trillion or growing 76.2 percent.
