Head Of PUPR Service For Accident Victims Of The North Kalimantan Governor's Group Found Dead In Semamu River
TARAKAN - Malinau Police found the victim of a river accident in Semamu Village, Mentarang, Malinau Regency, North Kalimantan (Kaltara), Yusi Novianto (46). The group of Governors of Kaltara was found dead.
"At 16.00 WITA, the victim was found dead downstream in Semamu Village, which is approximately one kilometer from the scene," said Malinau Police Chief AKBP Heru Eko Wibowo as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 15.
It is planned that the body of Yosi Novianto, who is the Head of the Beach and Water Section of the PUPR Perkim Kaltara, will be taken to the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Malinau Regency for a post-mortem, and then taken to the funeral home in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan.
The search for victims consisted of five Mentararang Police personnel, nine victims, and assisted by the people of Semamu Village.
The chronology, he said, began when the entourage of the Governor of Kaltara Zainal Arifin Paliwang headed to Krayan and arrived in Semamu Village, including the victim Yusi, joined in.

When the group was about to cross the motorbike using a ketinting boat across the village to continue the journey, there was an accident that killed Yusi.
"The victim at that time went along with the motorbike by riding on a motorbike, but because the Semamu River water was rising and fast, the ketinting boat that was crossing was swaying and the victim fell into the Semamu River," said Heru.
