Dirdik Brigadier General Asep Guntur: KPK Leader Rejects My Resignation
Brigadier General Asep Guntur opened his voice about his resignation as Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution and Director of Investigation of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Asep is known to have planned to resign from the KPK after the polemic of a hand arrest operation (OTT) at the National SAR Agency (Basarnas). However, this effort was rejected by the KPK leadership.
"Administratively, on Monday, July 31, I have submitted my resignation letter to the KPK leadership, I have submitted it to the National Police Chief," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, August 10.
He accepted the rejection because the KPK was considered to have resolved the polemic by coordinating with the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono. Now, Asep is more focused on resolving the OTT which eventually dragged the Head of Basarnas Marshal Madya Henri Alfiandi.
"Friends can see, as a result, law enforcement on corruption related to OTT Basarnas runs smoothly, coordination goes well so we support it," he said.

Asep planned to resign after the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak apologized in public for the polemic of the arrest operation (OTT) at Basarnas.
The reason was that they named the Head of Basarnas Marshal Henri Alfiandi together with the Kabasarnas Administration Coordinator Lt. Col. Afri Budi Cahyanto as a suspect without following military regulations, causing a commotion.
However, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri said he would keep Brigadier General Asep Guntur Rahayu from serving as Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution and Director of Investigation.
"We, the leadership and personnel of the KPK, ask Asep Guntur to continue to carry out our duties as director of the investigation," Firli said when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, August 2.
Firli said Asep was asked to continue working to investigate the alleged riot. "Including corruption cases in Basarnas," he said.
