Two Mobile Phone Robbers Belonging To Cyclists In Kelapa Gading Arrested

JAKARTA Two of the five perpetrators of mobile phone robbery belonging to a cyclist who was passing on Harpa Raya Street, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta were finally arrested by the North Jakarta Police Satreskrim. Ironically, the two perpetrators named Adriyanto (22) and Mujiyono (29) admitted that they had carried out the same action 7 times.

"Two perpetrators were arrested, two with DPO status (People Search List)," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes, Gidion Arif Setyawan, Friday, August 11.

Gidion detailed that the confiscation began when the victim passed at the crime scene (TKP). The victim was exercising on a bicycle. The victim put his cellphone in a jersey bag that he was wearing. Suddenly a gang of perpetrators came using a motorbike and forcibly seized the victim's cellphone.

"The perpetrator managed to take it, then the victim fell from his bicycle. Then the perpetrators left the victim," he said.

Feeling aggrieved, the victim also reported to the Kelapa Gading Police so that the police would pursue the perpetrators and arrest them.

The police conducted an investigation by analyzing CCTV and police number plates (nopol) of the vehicle used by the perpetrators during the action. As a result, officers arrested two of the four perpetrators.

Adriyanto was first arrested in the area of the Head of Gading, North Jakarta, Thursday, August 3.

"Then it was developed and made arrests of the suspect Mujiyono," said Gidion.

The results of the examination, the perpetrators admitted that they had carried out the same action seven times in different locations.

The two suspects were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison.
