Bawaslu Calls The Use Of Family Cards As A Requirement For Voting Vulnerable Elections To Be Manipulated
JAKARTA - Commissioner of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Lolly Suhenty revealed the use of Family Cards (KK) as a condition for voting in the 2024 General Election to widen the opportunity to manipulate the use of voting rights.
"Be careful, Bawaslu is vulnerable. Why? Because there are no photos of the KK," said Lolly as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 4.
This follows the KPU's plan to use the KK as a condition for choosing to be accommodated in the KPU Regulation (PKPU) regarding voting and vote counting.
According to him, there is no reason for someone to use the KK to participate in choosing in the democratic party.
This is because the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Ditjen Dukcapil Kemendagri) has committed to providing e-KTP, especially for novice voters.
For this reason, there is no reason for the KPU to allow voters to use the KK as a condition for voting in the 2024 General Election.
"It is better for the KPU to be careful that there is a good commitment from the Dukcapil. So do it, run this process," he said.
Lolly reminded the KPU that the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Ditjen Dukcapil Kemendagri) has committed to providing e-KTP, especially for novice voters.
"Dukcapil emphasized that we no longer issued a certificate (suket) because they believed that the blanks for e-KTP were sufficient. There was no problem," explained Lolly.
Bawaslu also encouraged the KPU to coordinate with the Directorate General of Dukcapil regarding the process of accelerating the recording of e-KTPs. That way, he continued, all voters can choose by showing their ID cards on voting day alias voting day, February 14, 2024.
Moreover, Lolly assessed that the population administration system had progressed rather than during the 2019 election, which finally allowed voters to use the KK.
"Now the process is different. So in our opinion in Bawaslu, there is no reason people can choose to use the KK unless they (KPU) can tell the reason," he said.

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Dukcapil guarantees that he will distribute e-KTPs for novice voters aged 17 on the same day of voting.
"Don't give the gap to give space for people in pickmarks and then manipulation of people who exercise their right to vote," he said.
Previously, KPU Commissioner Betty Epsilon Idroos said the use of the KK as a condition for choosing to be accommodated in KPU Regulation (PKPU) regarding voting and vote counting. According to him, the PKPU draft is in the discussion stage.
The KK era KPU has the same uses as e-KTP in the context of population document tools. Moreover, the KK has been used in the process of matching and research (coklit) of novice voters to determine the permanent voter list (DPT).
