KPK OTT of Basarnas Official, Alleged Bribery for Procurement of Goods/Services

JAKARTA - It is reported that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested officials from the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) in an arrest operation (OTT) today. It is suspected that money was given in relation to goods and services.

"KPK has carried out an arrest operation this afternoon around 14.00 today, July 25, 2023, in the Jakarta and Bekasi areas," KPK deputy chairman Nurul Ghufron told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, July 25.

"(Arrest) on suspicion of handing over money related to criminal acts of corruption in the procurement of goods and services," he continued.

Ghufron has not yet provided details regarding the silent operation. He only said that the KPK had 1x24 hours to conduct an examination.

The public is asked to be patient waiting for further information regarding the active enforcement. "We will tell you tomorrow after we have checked," concluded Ghufron.
