Netflix Reluctant To Make A Special Application For Apple Vision Pro Headsets, Why?
JAKARTA - Netflix reportedly has no specific plans to develop its app for Apple's new headset Vision Pro, which is priced quite expensively from its competitor Meta Quest 3.
As a Bloomberg journalist claims, Mark Gurman, in his Power On bulletin, who is aware of this information, stated that although Netflix does not plan to develop an app for Vision Pro, the company will continue to embed its original application without being modified.
"Netflix will keep its iPad app running on the headset (Vision Pro) without being modified," Gurman said.
That is, if Netflix on Vision Pro runs as an iPad app, it is likely that the app will have problems or even lose some of the features that the original streaming platform may have.
Gurman further revealed that Netflix competitors such as Disney Plus and Amazon, which have Prime Video, are already planning to take their app to Vision Pro.
"Disney+ is already scheduled to come to Vision Pro, and Apple's broad deal with Amazon may mean Prime Video will have similar settings," Gurman explained.

Several productivity app developers, such as Microsoft and Zoom, have also agreed to integrate their products into Vision Pro.
Other Gurman speculiations also include apps that can be purchased on Vision Pro, which will have quite a high price than the iPhone and iPad.
He would not be surprised if one app could be priced at 20 US dollars (Rp. 300 thousand) and while more professional apps would have a price of 50 to 250 US dollars.
This is because the Vision Pro headset itself is priced at around IDR 53 million, which is claimed to launch in early 2024 with a strong double M2 chip and a new R1 chip. This was quoted from The Verge, Monday, July 24.
