Bengkulu Gets IDR 510 Billion Inpres Budget Disbursement, Prosecutor's Office Will Watch Its Use
BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has confirmed that it will oversee the presidential instruction budget (Inpres) disbursed for Bengkulu Province amounting to Rp510 billion.
The Presidential Instruction Budget consists of Rp400 billion for road construction in eight sections in Bengkulu Province and Rp110 billion for the construction of Purwodadi Market in North Bengkulu Regency.
"The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Team will supervise the Inpres funds disbursed for the construction of a number of infrastructures in the Bengkulu area," said Head of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office Heri Germany in Bengkulu City, Friday, July 21, as reported by Antara.
Heri explained that the Presidential Instruction was distributed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during a visit to a number of areas in Bengkulu with a total fund of Rp510 billion. He added that the Presidential Instruction would be monitored by the intelligence team and members of the State Civil and Administration (Datun) towards related agencies such as the National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) or the Bengkulu Province Public Works and Public Housing Service (PUPR). Meanwhile, the construction of Purwodadi Market in North Bengkulu Regency for the auction process will be carried out at the center, because the total budget disbursed by the central government is quite large, namely Rp110 billion.
The supervision was carried out to ensure that the Inpres budget was used in accordance with the objectives and that there was no criminal act of corruption in infrastructure work in Bengkulu.
