AHY Reminds Cawapres Anies Must Bring A Higher Chance Of Victory
YOGYAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) reminded the importance of the figure of a candidate for vice president (readwapres) accompanying Anies Baswedan must meet the criteria to bring a higher chance (cans) in the 2024 presidential election.
"Of course it must meet a number of criteria. Criteria that are considered to be able to bring a higher chance of victory in the 2024 Presidential Election," AHY said after attending the Fisipol Leadership Forum at the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 20.
Regarding the future vice presidential candidate, the son of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) handed over to Anies Baswedan according to the agreement charter which had been signed by three parties of the Change Coalition for Unity (KPP).
Including the question that he has the opportunity to become an Anies vice presidential candidate, AHY fully submits it to the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.
"Actually, regarding the proposal or discourse about the vice presidential candidate, it is final, in the sense that three Democratic political parties, PKS, and NasDember have agreed that we have signed a letter of agreement, in which one of the most important articles is to hand over to Presidential Candidate Mas Anies Baswedan to determine for himself the vice presidential candidate," he said.
AHY said that all coalition members, including the Democratic Party, will certainly respect Anies' decision regarding the person who will be elected to become a vice presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
With a note, according to him, the decision was based on a rational choice, on the basis of a goal, and a good way.
"We avoid discourse that continues to go wild here and there because we really respect that choice. Of course, a rational choice on the basis of good goals and good ways. We want to wait for the right time, the right momentum in time will be announced by our presidential candidate," said AHY.
