Google Launches ARSPACE INVADERS Game: World Defense, Similar To Pokemon Go
JAKARTA - To honor the 45th anniversary of Google's iconic "SPACE INVADERS" game announced its new partnership with TAITO, game developer, and Unit9 to bring its game to augmented reality (AR).
SPACE INVADERS: World Defense is a new Android and iOS active mobile game that will invite players from all over the world to come out and defend Earth.
"Through an in-depth global gameplay, players from around the world must work together to save the planet," Stevan Silva as Senior Product Manager said on Google's blog Tuesday, July 18.
Based on the information provided, the way this game plays is the same as Pokemon Go, where players have to explore their environment to find new Space Invaders and score points by defeating them.

You as a player will also get to open up special powers, compete with friends for the highest score near your location and share achievements on social media with AR selfies.
"This game is powered by our ARCore and Geospatial API, using the nearest environment of players as well as nearby buildings, landscapes and other architectural elements to design interesting levels in the real world with AR and on screens with only 3D," he explained.
