The Cause Of The Super Air Jet Failed To Fly From Lombok Airport
JAKARTA - The IU-765 flight Super Air Jet failed to depart from Lombok Airport to Jakarta on Friday, July 14. It was revealed that there was a problem in the cockpit.
Super Air Jet explained that the plane suffered damage to one of the panels in the cockpit. They also apologized for this incident.
"We apologize for the inconvenience experienced by guests or airplane passengers," said Super Air Jet's Chief Executive Officer, Ari Azhar, as quoted by Antara, Sunday, July 16.
He said, when the plane was on the runway and was about to move to the runway. Then a damage appeared in the cockpit panel, the pilot decided to return to the plane parking lot.
"We really appreciate the pilot's decision to prioritize the safety of passengers and flight security, in accordance with applicable civil aviation safety and security standards," he said.
He emphasized that the Airbus 320 aircraft with registration PK-STZ had undergone a pre-departure inspection and was declared in a suitable condition for flying.
When returning to the parking lot, the movement of the aircraft takes time to coordinate with the air traffic tower, in connection with the tightness of the plane departing and landing in Lombok.
"After the plane was successfully parked properly (the position of the aircraft according to the parking lot), the pilot and technician carried out additional checks that required extra time," he said.
