Badminton Junior Asia Championship 2023 Becomes First Title, Zhu/Huang Praises The Friendliness Of Yogyakarta Residents

YOGYAKARTA - Chinese mixed doubles Zhu Yi Jun/Huang Ke Xin won the title at the 2023 Badminton Junior Asia Championship (BAJC). They beat their compatriot, Liao Pin Yi/Zhang Jia Han, Sunday, July 16.

In the match which was held at the Amongrogo Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Zhu/Huang won two straight games 21-19, 21-18.

This is Zhu/Huang's first title at the international level. It is natural that both of them are so enthusiastic about welcoming this title.

"It's nice to be able to perform optimally in individual numbers. After I won the BWF World Junior Championships 2022, now it feels good to be able to appear in the final and win BAJC 2023," Zhu said, as quoted by Antara.

Zhu and Huang are just paired this year. Meanwhile, Zhu won the 2022 Junior World Championships when they were paired with Liu Sheng Shu.

Zhu/Huang are very happy with this achievement because they were able to reply to their perfect performance when competing in the BAJC mixed team number last week.

At that time, Zhu/Huang were unable to lead China to become champions after being stopped in the quarter-finals after their team lost 1-3 to Japan.

Their joy is also supported by the comfortable atmosphere of the city of Yogyakarta. Zhu/Huang were impressed by the friendly public greeting of Yogyakarta.

During BAJC 2023, Zhu/Huang felt that the people of Student City had welcomed them well so that both of them were comfortable in competing.

"It's great to be able to compete here and become a champion. While in Yogyakarta, we were impressed by the hospitality of the people here," Huang said.

"In addition to the hospitality of the people here, I also like the food here that has a sweet taste," Huang added.

Noted throughout this year, Zhu/Huang had qualified for the top match at the 2023 Dutch Junior International tournament.

Unfortunately they only became runners-up because they lost to the South Korean pair Park Beom Soo/Yeon Seo Yeon with a score of 15-21, 17-21.
