Tomorrow, Jabodebek LRT Will Trial Limited Operations
JAKARTA - The Jabodebek LRT will soon undergo trials with limited passengers. This limited trial will be carried out for three days starting tomorrow until next Friday.
The decision on the date of this limited trial was taken at a coordination meeting chaired by the Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation Risal Wasal and attended by a number of relevant stakeholders.
"Based on the agreement in the meeting, it has been decided that starting tomorrow, August 12 to 15, 2023, a limited operational trial will be carried out," said Director General of Railways Risal Wasal, Tuesday, July 11.
Regarding the readiness of limited operational trials from both safety, security and service aspects, Risal explained that he had received a letter requesting the implementation of a limited operational trial submitted by the President Director of KAI to the Director General of Railways, after receiving a safety assessment recommendation from Siemens and supervisory consultant for the Jabodebek LRT construction project.
In the limited trial later, said Risal, in addition to testing the operation of the LRT, trials were also carried out related to the payment system and intermodal integration at each station that was passed.
"We have coordinated with BPTJ and the ranks of the Transportation Service in DKI Jakarta, Depok, and Bekasi regarding the preparation of further transportation such as Transjakarta buses, Jak Lingko, public transportation, KRL, high-speed trains, and so on," said Risal.
Meanwhile, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, explained that the trial was carried out to introduce by inviting the public to experience a new experience using the Jabodebek LRT.
"For this reason, the safety and security aspects of the Jabodebek LRT are our main concern before the start of the limited trial tomorrow," he said.
Adita said the limited operational trials would be carried out in stages, namely the first phase from July 12, 2023 to July 26, 2023. At this stage, those who can take part in the trial are limited invitations from Ministries / Institutions, journalists / media, and communities.
"Furthermore, in the second phase from July 27, 2023 to August 15, 2023, the general public can follow the ujcoba by filling in the registration link provided by the Jabodebek LRT operator," he said.
The limited operational trials will be carried out from 08.00 to 12.30 WIB with a total of 4 train trips per day, which will serve 3 routes, namely the Cawang-Dukuh Atas, Cawang-Harjamukti and Cawang-Jatimulya routes. In a day, the maximum number of LRT passengers is targeted at 600 passengers.
The invitees can only tap in at three Jabodebek LRT Stations, namely Harjamukti Station, Jatimulya and Dukuh Atas. However, invitees can tap out at all stations that are passed. Transactions can be made using Electronic Money Cards (KUE) from various banks providing electronic money services.

For information, the Jabodebek LRT uses higher technology from the Jakarta MRT or South Sumatra LRT, namely the 3rd generation or GoA Level 3. With this technology, it is possible for trains to be operated without a driver/driverless driver, but on the train there are athletes who will be on guard for emergency situations.
This train is also automatically able to adjust the distance between trains to be closer while maintaining a constant safe distance. All operating systems on the Jabodebek LRT have been regulated at the OCC (Operation Control Center).
The Jabodebek LRT is also the work of the nation's children with a domestic component level (TKDN) of more than 60 percent, including the train made by PT INKA. It is targeted that the Jabodebek LRT will be operating commercially on August 18, 2023.
