Jokowi Greets Residents And Checks Prices Of Basic Materials At The Pharaa Sentani Market

SENTANI - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) greeted residents as well as directly reviewed the prices of basic necessities at Pharaa Market, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Papua.

Arriving at around 14:45 WIT, President Jokowi's presence at the market was greeted with enthusiasm by traders and the public, as quoted by ANTARA from a statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Friday, July 7.

President Jokowi also greeted the traders and took selfies with a number of residents in Pharaa Market.

In addition to reviewing the prices of basic necessities, the President also appears to be approaching one of the fruit traders. There, the President bought a number of oranges and soursop fruit from the merchant.

During the visit, the Head of State also distributed a number of cash and basic necessities to traders and the people in the market.

Also accompanying the President in the review were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Admiral Yudo Margono, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Plh. Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan, and Acting Regent of Jayapura Triwarno Purnomo.

President Jokowi continued his working visit to Bumi Cenderawasih, namely Friday morning, the Head of State held a meeting with Papuan students.

After that, the President opened and inaugurated the Papua Street Carnival which was held in the area of the Papua Governor's Office, Jayapura City. After visiting the Pharaa Market, the President is scheduled to visit Waibu Agro Ecotourism, Jayapura Regency, before leaving for Jakarta to board the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft from Sentani International Airport.
