Haru Cesar Azpilicueta's Full Farewell After Leaving Chelsea To Join Atletico Madrid

JAKARTA - Cesar Azpilicueta's long career at Chelsea must end. The Spaniard left the London club after 11 seasons of devoteing himself.

Furthermore, Azpilicueta continued his career in his hometown, Spain. He officially joined the Capital club, Atletico Madrid.

Azpilicueta also conveyed farewell. The emotion was felt at this moment.

"It's hard to express my feelings, when I was here it was extraordinary," said Azpilicueta in his farewell video uploaded on the official Chelsea website.

"I feel like I've given everything. I like it," he continued.

Azpilicueta joined Chelsea from the Ligue 1 team Olympique Marseille in 2012. He made more than 500 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals, providing 56 assists.

A number of titles have also been presented by Azpilicueta for the Blues. Among them are the Champions League, two English Premier League, two Europa League trophies, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.

However, he mentioned that the best moment in his career was winning the Champions League with Chelsea.

"It is very clear that the best moment in the career was when I won the Champions League at Porto. My first trophy as captain," said the former Spanish national team player.

"Chelsea is my home, it will always be my home and I hope to come back again with a different role," he continued.

The owner of Chelsea from the United States, Todd Boehly, said Cesar Azpilicueta was a club legend and had left a lasting trail at the club.

"The target leaves a lasting trail at Chelsea, as a fighter, as a champion, and as a loyal Chelsea legend," Chelsea owner Todd Boehly said in a statement on the club's official website, as quoted by Antara.

"He has set standards at the club for more than a decade and shown everyone what to do to achieve success."

Azpilicueta is the newest Chelsea player to leave Stamford Bridge on the transfe exchange this summer. Previously, Kalidou Koulibaly, N'Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy, all of whom joined Saudi Arabian clubs.

Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount each joined Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have so far brought in two new players, namely Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and new tactician Mauricio Pochettino.
