Alleged Lukas Enembe Corruption Of Governor's Operational Funds Investigated By KPK
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has opened a new investigation regarding the alleged fraudulent practice carried out by Lukas Enembe. It is suspected that the inactive Papua Governor misappropriated operational funds during his tenure.
"Yes (it has been investigated, ed)," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters quoted on Friday, June 30.
This allegation strengthened after the anti-corruption commission found that Lukas' operational funds since 2019 amounted to Rp1 trillion per year. This value is considered unusual so it will be investigated.
"Investigations will be carried out by tracing existing receipts," said Asep.
"That's what we are trying to clarify coming to the restaurant, is it true that this is the date of the number of food messages here, how many, the amount, if it is true, is it true that it is up to Rp1 billion one day that we need to clarify continuously," he explained.
Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata revealed that Lukas' operational money was higher than the provisions regulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
"Every year the operational funds concerned are more than Rp. 1 trillion," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, June 26.
The governor's operational funds should be calculated according to the percentage of the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD), said Alex. the percentage of the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD). However, Lukas actually budgeted more and partly spent on consumption.
Not only that, investigators found most of the receipts attached to fictitious ones. "Imagine that Rp1 trillion is used a third by eating and drinking. That's one day Rp1 billion for food and drink shopping," said Alexander.
"Of course this will be experienced further because there are a large number of thousands of receipts of evidence of expenses that cannot be verified," he continued.
