Riau PUPR-PKPP Repairs Ambruk Bridge In Inhil

"After receiving public reports, the Region IV Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) team went down to the location and repaired the collapsed bridge. Repairs are ongoing and we have prepared material needs," said Head of UPT Region IV of the Riau PUPR Office, Yunan Haris, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 23.

Yunan said the age of the bridge that collapsed was old and moreover the construction of the bridge was made of wood. On the floor and the support pole of the bridge was rotten, so when a heavy car passed through the wood it was unable to withstand the load and collapsed.

Therefore, UPT Region IV will immediately build a new one by lowering the excavator to dismantle the bridge and then the repair will immediately run using new materials.

"The bridge in Parit Landang collapsed on Thursday (22/6), a pickup truck with a dump truck loaded with stuck sand into a hole on the left side of the bridge," he also said.

Luckily, there were no casualties or injuries in this incident. Assisted by local residents, the sand cargo car in the car was immediately pulled from the hole and taken to the side of the road that was safe.

Inhil Regency and the capital Tembilahan are called the Thousand Parit Country, because it consists of waters, rivers, swamps and coconut plantations separated by thousands of trenches.

Inhil Regency has an area of 18,812.97 km2 or 1,881,297 hectares and consists of land and waters. The sea waters cover 7,207 km2 (38 percent) and public waters 888.97 km2 with a coastline length of 339.5 km.
