New Campaign Starting November 2023, Bawaslu Make Sure The Attributes Of Candidates Are Marak In NTT
The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has begun to identify posters of prospective legislative candidates (caleg) that have begun to emerge in a number of areas in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province.
Head of the NTT Bawaslu Province, Nonato Da Purificao Sarmento, emphasized that currently it has not entered the campaign period.
"We will immediately identify them to confirm whether the posters are just socialization or have been included in the campaign," he said in Kupang, NTT, Friday, June 16, which was confiscated by Antara.
Nonato revealed that currently there are billboards belonging to a number of balaleg on a number of roads in Kupang City and in several districts in NTT.
He explained that the NTT Bawaslu had previously held a roadshow to political parties (political parties) in NTT to instill information about the attributes installed in the public only related to self-socialization. That's because, he said, the campaign period had not yet started.
Sarmento also emphasized that if the attributes or posters will lead to the campaign, it will certainly violate election rules because the new campaign schedule starts in November 2023.
"In fact, when we register for legislative candidates, we have conveyed that we can socialize ourselves to the public. However, if it has conveyed the vision and mission and work program, it is prohibited," he said.
