DIY Builds Seropan Water Processing Installation In Gunungkidul
GUNUNGKIDUL - The Yogyakarta Special Region Infrastructure and Settlement Center has begun to build a Seropan Water Processing Installation project in Kalurahan Gombang, Gunungkidul Regency, worth IDR 37.7 billion which is targeted for completion on December 18, 2023.
Head of the Public Works for Public Housing and Settlement Areas (DPUPRKP) Gunungkidul Irawan Jatmiko said the construction of the Seropan Water Processing Installation (IPA) was handled directly by the DIY Regional Infrastructure and Settlement Center (BPPW).
"The implementation is a development proposal proposed by the Gunungkidul Regency Government. Currently, the project has been started until the end of this year," said Irawan Jatmiko as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 15.
The land used to build the Seropan IPA belongs to PDAM. The DPUPRKP assists in equitable efforts. Furthermore, after that, it will be used for the people in Gunungkidul.
The total budget for the construction of the Seropan IPA reached IDR 37.799 billion. As for the details, as much as IDR 24.10 billion for the processing installation building with a capacity of 100 liters per second.
In addition, there are also IPA infrastructure development activities worth IDR 12.606 billion and supervision consultant costs of IDR 1.091 billion.
Support buildings consist of guard houses, IPA concrete foundations, protective roofs, pump houses, panels, generators, safety fences, electrical mechanics to roads.
"Work for 210 days and is targeted for completion on December 18, 2023," he said.
Meanwhile, PDAM President Director Tirta Handayani Toto Sugiharto said the construction of the Seropan IPA with a capacity of 100 liters per second was an effort to improve clean water services in the community. Initially, the construction was proposed at 200 liters per second, but only half of it was accommodated.
"We hope that the shortcomings can be continued next year," he said.
Toto said that the Seropan IPA is to improve the quality of services, which is also used in order to expand the reach of access to clean water to the community.
"We hope that this additional production can be enjoyed by residents in Kapanewon/Semanu District, Rongkop, Ponjong, Semin to Ngawen," he said.

Meanwhile, Gunungkidul Regent Sunaryanta said the construction of the Seropan IPA was an effort to improve the quality of clean water services to the community.
Prior to this development, there was already a clean water management capacity of 90 liters per second.
However, water management has not been optimal due to complaints related to cloudy water during the rainy season.
"With the addition of 100 liters per second, residents' complaints about cloudy water can be resolved. In addition, the service capacity is also increasing," he said.
