8 Houses In Cawang, East Jakarta Fire, One Girl With Disabilities Dies

A total of 8 houses on Jalan Swadaya, Jatinegara, Cakung, East Jakarta (Jaktim) caught fire. The fire killed one girl with a disability with the initials T (10).

Head of the Operational Section of the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, June 2.

"That's right, one person died a 10-year-old boy," said Gatot when confirmed, Friday, June 2.

Gatot explained that the fire in the rented house was suspected to have leaked a gas cylinder leak in one of the buildings.

But unfortunately, when the fire broke out, a person with a disability was in the room of the affected house. Meanwhile, the mother who was active outside the house at the time of the incident could not do much when the red rooster spread quickly.

"The fire came from a gas cylinder leak from one of the rented houses, then there was a fire that grew from the room and the fire spread to other houses," he said.

"(Because) the child was disabled and left by his mother in the room, his mother was not at home," he continued.

Gatot said 12 units of fire trucks with 60 personnel were needed to tame the fire. "Saved 12 families (Head of Families), 42 people," he added.

Based on provisional estimates, the loss due to the fire that made eight houses reached Rp700 million.
