Portugal National Team Squad For Euro 2024 Qualification: Cristiano Ronaldo Is Still A Mainstay Weapon

JAKARTA - The Portugal national team will play two qualifying matches for Euro 2024 Germany, next June. Portugal will face Bosnia & Herzegovina on June 18, WIB and also against Iceland on June 21

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez has announced 26 players to play the two Euro 2024 qualifying matches. Cristiano Ronaldo's name remains a mainstay.

In addition, there is one new name, namely Wolverhampton Wanderers defender, Toti Games. The 24-year-old footballer has performed quite well this season with his club by making 20 appearances in all competitions with one goal.

Martinez said, apart from Toti playing well with Wolves, the summons for the player who was born on January 16, 1999, was also because the player had different attributes from the defender he had in the Portugal national team.

"He is a very interesting player for us because he has a different skill compared to other center-backs in the national team. Physically very strong in duels, he is left-handed. His game at Wolverhampton is very good," Martinez said, as reported by Antara.

"It's not about excluding players, it's about deciding by considering different characteristics. We need to have players with different abilities in the national team and I think Toti can offer that," he added.

In the Euro 2024 qualifiers this June, Wolves contributed the most players with a total of four players, namely Jose Sa, Nelson Semedo, Toti Gomes, Ruben Neves.

This number was attended by two other clubs, namely FC Porto and Paris Saint-Germain, each of which contributed three players.
