Commission II Of The House Of Representatives Approves 3 Draft PKPU And Perbawaslu
JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR together with the Ministry of Home Affairs, KPU, Bawaslu, and DKPP approved three Draft General Election Commission Regulations (PKPU) and a Draft Bawaslu Regulation (Perbawaslu).
"Today's meeting, we have taken an agreement regarding the Three PKPU Drafts and One Bawaslu Regulation Draft," said Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 29.
First, he said, the PKPU Draft concerning Voting Equipment, Support for Other Equipment, and Other Voting Equipment in the General Election.
Second, he continued, the PKPU Draft on Campaigns in the Implementation of General Elections. Finally, the PKPU Draft on General Election Campaign Funds.
The Draft Perbawaslu approved is Perbawaslu concerning the Supervision of Candidates for Members of the DPR, Provincial DPRD, and Regency/City DPRD.
"With a note that the Indonesian KPU and the Indonesian Bawaslu pay attention to suggestions and input from members of Commission II of the DPR RI, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the DKPP RI," he said in the conclusion of the meeting.
Previously, KPU member Yulianto Sudrajat said the KPU designed a stronger ballot box to be used on voting day for the 2024 General Election on February 14, 2024.
"In principle of design in terms of specifications, we will strengthen (the ballot box) compared to the timing of the 2019 election," said Yulianto.
"The 2024 Election ballot box design has been regulated in detail by the KPU in the Draft KPU Regulation (PKPU) concerning Voting Equipment, Other Equipment Support, and Other Voting Equipment in the General Election," said Yulianto in the RDP.

Meanwhile, the PKPU Draft on Campaigns in the Implementation of Elections also regulates the number of social media accounts that can be used by 2024 election participants to campaign for a maximum of twenty (20) accounts on each type of social media application.
Including, he said, regulating strategic issues related to the closure of social media accounts on the last day of the campaign period, as well as regarding socialization and political education within political parties participating in the 2024 General Election.
As for the PKPU Draft on Campaign Fund Reporting, the KPU removed the bookkeeping provisions and submission of campaign fund donations (LPSDK) reports from election participants to the KPU for the 2024 General Election.
