The Case Of A Couple Domestic Violence In Depok Is So Complicated, The Police Make The Both Of The Suspects

DEPOK has become a public concern, the case of domestic violence (KDRT) experienced by a married couple (couple) in Depok, has made the victim a suspect. Apparently, the police have a legal basis for the determination.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Depok Metro Police, AKBP Yogen Heroes Baruno spoke up. He said that the incident occurred on February 26, 2023, then where the two of them were selling police reports.

Yogen explained that the incident began between the quarrel between the husband and wife. At the time of the quarrel, it was suspected that the husband was offended by Balqis' words, so he spilled chili powder on the wife's eyes.

"And there was a struggle, the wife continued to be pushed and then tightened her husband's vital tools hard. To release the refraction, the husband hit his wife," said Yogen.

After the incident, the two of them reported to each other to the Depok Metro Police. Yogen continued, Balqis first reported the alleged domestic violence to the police only then the husband who turned to report it.

Based on the results of the examination of both parties, the police finally named both of them as suspects.

"Both of them we have named as suspects," he concluded.

This case went viral on social media. The Twitter account @saharahanum tweeted about the case of domestic violence (KDRT) experienced by her older brother, Putri Balqis.

"My brother, a victim of domestic violence, has even been made a suspect!! Forced to make peace with his husband, my brother, he doesn't want to be made a suspect!!!", tweeted the Twitter account seen, Wednesday, May 24.

In the tweet, the owner of the Twitter account also said that his brother, Putri Balqis, often experienced dozens of abuses by her husband until he almost lost his life.
