BMKG Detects 30 Hotspots Again In East Kalimantan Detected
JAKARTA - The Balikpapan Station Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) detected 30 hotspots (initinal indicators of forest and land fires) scattered in East Kalimantan Province, so all parties were asked to be vigilant so that the number of hotspots did not increase.
"A total of 30 hotspots were monitored throughout Saturday (13 May) from 01.00 to 24.00 WITA," said the Coordinator for Data and Information at the Class I Meteorological Station Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan Diyan Novrida, Antara, Sunday, May 14.
He has informed the distribution of the 30 hotspots to related parties, including the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) for further action.

The day before, Friday (May 12), his party also detected six hotspots in East Kalimantan, but the hotspots had been extinguished after handling the related parties.
Meanwhile, the 30 hotspots monitored throughout Saturday, he said, are new hotspots that appear in different locations with different coordinate points than the previous day.
A total of 30 hotspots are spread across four districts, namely West Kutai Regency, there are 7 locations spread across three sub-districts, namely Kelay District 1 point, Sambaliung 4, and Tabalar 2 points.
Then in West Kutai Regency there is 1 hot spot, namely the one observed in Bongan District.
In Kutai Kartanegara Regency, 5 points were detected spread across four sub-districts, namely Loa Kulu District 2 points and Loa Janan, Muara Badak, and Tenggarong Seberang 1 point each.
East Kutai Regency detected 17 hotspots spread across four sub-districts, namely Bengalon District with 8 points, Busang 3 points, Kaubun 3 points, and North Sangatta 3 points.
"We urge all parties to always be vigilant and take care of each other so that forest and land fires do not occur, even though this month in East Kalimantan it is still the rainy season," said Diyan.
