Tekat Ends 34 Years Old Champion's Fasting Accompanying Indonesian Badminton Team's Steps Towards The 2023 Sudirman Cup Arena
JAKARTA - The Indonesian badminton team has left the country for Suzhou. China. The players will take part in the 2023 Sudirman Cup tournament.
A total of 20 of the best male men's athletes departed on Thursday, May 11 through terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten.
Armed with strong determination, the red and white team has ambitions to end their 34-year-old title fast.
"Today we are leaving for Suzhou with a big mission. Namely wanting to reclaim the Sudirman Cup. We have been waiting 34 years for the symbol of the supremacy of this world mixed team badminton that has not been able to return to the country," said team manager Armand Darmadji, in a statement.
In this departure, Darmadji explained that all athletes were in good condition. All the male and female players are in good health and have high enthusiasm.
Supported by technical trainers, physical trainers, doctors, therapists, masseur, video analysis, and media, the Garuda Squad is ready for combat.
"We are ready to fight. The players and coaches, as well as the support team are also in good condition. We are ready to fight excitedly. With togetherness and cohesiveness, the Indonesian badminton team wants to bring the Sudirman Cup back to the country," said Armand.

This year's Sudirman Cup will take place in Suzhou, China, May 14-21, 2023. Indonesia is in Group B with Canada, Germany, and Thailand.
Indonesia went to Suzhou with the best strength. In the men's singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie were strengthened.
For women's singles, there are Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani. In men's doubles, Indonesia relies on Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin.
Meanwhile, in the women's doubles, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Ribka Sugiarto/Lanny Tria Mayasari were strengthened. While in the mixed doubles there are still Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, and Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah.
