Provisional Standings For 2023 SEA Games Medals: Thailand Crawls Up, Indonesia Is Getting Slumped
JAKARTA - Indonesia's position in the standings for the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games medals continues to decline. Meanwhile, Thailand shifted Cambodia to the top of the standings.
On the fourth day of the 2023 SEA Games, Tuesday, May 9, Indonesia succeeded in adding three golds. The Indonesian vovinam team won gold in the Women's Doubles Knives Form category which was strengthened by Putu Wahana Maha Yoni and Ni Made Purnami.
The gold medal was also presented by the women's team number tennis team after successfully defeating the Thai team 2-1 in the final round.
The men's team soft tennis team also contributed gold to the Indonesian contingent by overthrowing Thailand 2-1 in the final.
The addition of the three golds does not seem enough for Indonesia to reclaim the highest position that had been in second place.
Indonesia fell one place to fifth position, as reported by Antara based on the standings table on the official website of the 2023 SEA Games. Not only the Red and White team, the change in position was also experienced by Cambodia, which from the start led at the top of the 2023 SEA Games medal standings.
