SEA Games 2023: Karate Contributes One, The Indonesian Contingent Has Pocketed 6 Gold Medals!

JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent has now collected six gold medals at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. An additional one gold came from the sport of karate.

Not only one gold, but the Indonesian karate national team contributed two silvers, and one bronze for Indonesia at the 2023 SEA Games at the Chroy Changvar Convention Center Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Saturday, May 6.

The gold medal was won from a karate sport presented by Ahmad Zigi Zaresta Yuda through the male individual category. Meanwhile, Anugerah Nurul Lucky and the team won silver for the men's team number and Dessyinta Rakawi Banurea and the team in the women's team number.

Meanwhile, the bronze won by Krisda Putri Aprilia in the women's individual number.

"Earlier, there were only four games, two men and two daughters, one gold, two silver, and one bronze. We are still in the series, still around 10 more classes tomorrow and the day after tomorrow," said manager of the Indonesian karate national team Yusran Arief, as quoted by Antara.

Winning medals from the sport of karate further strengthens Indonesia's position in the 2023 SEA Games standings with a total of six gold, three silver, and five bronze as of Saturday at 15.24 WIB.

Previously, Rashif Amila Yaqin contributed the first gold medal for the Indonesian contingent at the 32nd edition of the SEA Games after finishing leading the men's individual aquatlon competition at Kep Town Beach, Kep, Cambodia.

Then, Indonesian runners Agus Prayogo and Odekta Elvina Naibaho each got gold for athletics in the marathon number.

Furthermore, there are Sayu Bella Sukma Dewi and Feri Yudoyono who also made a sweet note at the Cambodian SEA Games by winning gold medals in the women's and men's Cross Country Olympic (XCO) cycling sport in Kulen Mountains, Siem Reap.
