Alleged Food Poisoning, Unidentified Elderly Found Dead In Roadside Waterways

JAKARTA - An unidentified elderly person was found dead in a water channel on the edge of Jalan Raya Industri, Kemayoran District, East Jakarta, Thursday, May 4, afternoon. The cause of death of the victim is not yet known for sure, but officers found a package of food left over which the victim had allegedly consumed.

According to information from the Kemayoran PPK security officer, Rudifi, initially the victim was seen lying on the side of the road. Then he approached the victim's whereabouts.

"Suddenly, he fell into a ditch for a long time," Rudifi told reporters at the location, Thursday, May 4.

Rudifi explained, when he first saw the victim's position was like sleeping on the side of the road.

"About how many minutes he fell into a ditch, (the cause of the death) didn't know us. I think after eating," he said.

Rudifi said the time gap when the victim was lying on the road and went into a ditch was about 30 minutes.

"The position is already lying down, I waited here for 30 minutes while waiting for the police but he fell," he said.

Furthermore, the victim's body was evacuated to the blackstop Jakarta hearse for further post-mortem. The victim's body was taken to the Jakarta RSCM.
