Ngaji Teacher Arrested After Obscene 13 Santri In Batang, Central Java
Batang Resort Police, Central Java, revealed a sodomy case carried out by a Koran teacher named Tachyat Subagyo (45), a resident of Kedungmalang, Wonotunggal District, to 13 of his students.
"Currently there are 13 students who have reported the case to the police. We have also arrested the suspect," said Batang Police Chief AKBP Saufi Salamun as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.
According to him, in his modus operandi, the suspect invited the students to learn tahajud prayers so that they could be solemn.
However, during the lesson, the suspect asked the students to massage his body. Then, the victim's hand was directed to the perpetrator's genitals to beminated.
"Not only that, some victims were also forced to oral and even sodomized," said Saufi Salamun at a press conference on Thursday.
The victims were students who stayed at the suspect's house and they were also asked to obey (according to/follow ustadz's orders) so that they could easily accept the knowledge given by the suspect.
It was said that the case carried out by the suspect began in 2017 and was revealed when the suspect's house was thrown by firecrackers by residents of Kedungmalang Village before Lebaran 2023.
"When asked by village officials, they admitted to being victims of sexual harassment by their Koran teachers. The victim's parents then reported the case and we arrested the suspect," he said.
He who was accompanied by the Head of the Detective and Criminal Unit AKP Andi Fajar said the evidence was confiscated, including mattresses, carpets, clothes, and sarongs.
The suspect will be subject to Article 82 of Law No. 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Regulation in Lieu of Law No.1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection with a maximum penalty of 15 years.
The suspect can also be subject to Article 292 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of five years.
