Meeting Cak Imin, AHY: We Want Elections Without Intervention, Intimidation And Cheating

Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono emphasized the agreement to maintain the 2024 election without intervention, intimidation and fraud.

This was conveyed by AHY after meeting with the Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) in Cikeas Bogor, West Java.

"We agree, PKB, Democrats want to be part so that elections, presidential elections, legislative elections without being colored by intervention, intimacy, let alone cheating. We must protect this together," AHY said in a press conference quoted from Kompas TV's live broadcast, Wednesday, May 3.

During the meeting, AHY emphasized that the two political parties, PKB and Democrats, both had a desire to build a more advanced Indonesia. AHY does not question the difference in the coalition position between PKB and the current Democrats.

"Even though we are in different coalition buildings, we do not close the spirit of exchanging ideas. PKB together with the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition, Democrats with the Change Coalition," continued AHY.

Despite having similarities with the goal of developing the country, AHY emphasized that the Democrats together with NasDem and PKS in the Change Coalition had fundamental differences with the coalition of other political parties, namely KKIR and the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) including the political parties that carried Ganjar Pranowo in the presidential election.

"We prevent Indonesia from being trapped in a big debt. This is one of our struggles, we don't want poverty to be too great, including preventing the practice of injustice, both law and other aspects," said AHY.
