Pekalongan City Government Denies Rejecting Application For Eid Prayer Permits In The Field
PEKALONGAN - Pekalongan City Government (Pemkot), Central Java Province, denied rejecting the request for Eid prayers in the field on April 21, 2023, which was proposed by the administrator of the Al-Hikmah Podosgulih Mosque."Muslims please carry out Eid prayers in any field, except in Mataram Field," said Pekalongan Mayor Afzan Arslan Djunaid in Pekalongan, quoted from Antara, Friday, April 14.The management of the Al-Hikmah Podosugih Mosque is welcome to hold Eid prayers in other fields, such as the Peturen field and Hoegeng Field.Afzan said that the city government had not been able to grant permission to hold Eid prayers at Mataram Square on Friday, April 21 because the central government had not yet set Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri.The city government is still waiting for an announcement from the central government regarding the celebration date of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri.Accompanied by the Head of Protocol and Communications for Restu Hidayat, the Mayor said that the city government is ready to facilitate Muslims to hold Eid prayers on Friday, April 21.
"Differences in Eid celebrations do not need to be debated. However, if possible Lebaran falls on the same date so that Eid prayers can be carried out together at Mataram Square," said Restu Hidayat
