KALTENG - Members of the Samapta Polresta Palangka Raya Unit check expired food and drinks in a number of retail and supermarket stores in the Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) region ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2023.
Deputy of the Samapta Unit of the Palangka Raya Police, Iptu I Ketut Warsa, said personnel had combed a number of retail and supermarket stores in the area to anticipate the circulation of unfit consumer or expired goods.
"The activity was carried out Thursday (April 13) afternoon with the aim of anticipating food that had expired or was not suitable for consumption to be sold to the public ahead of Eid al-Fitr in Palangka Raya City," he said Friday, April 14, as reported by Antara.
Checks started at 09.30 WIB until they finished. The personnel carried out a dialogical patrol with several shops that they visited and reminded them to check carefully their merchandise
In the check, he said, personnel did not find expired food displayed at the sales storefront provided by retail and supermarket owners.
Previously, a similar activity was carried out by the Center for Drug and Food Supervision (BBPOM) in Palangka Raya so that retail and supermarket managers had paid attention to this.
"Do regular checks of selling goods, especially food. Make sure they are in appropriate condition and do not pass from the expiration date so that it is safe for the public to consume," he said.
