Regarding The Alleged Money Laundering Of The Ministry Of Finance, Mahfud MD Affirms There Is No Difference In Data With Sri Mulyani
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said the data he presented in the DPR was the same as data from Finance Minister Sri Mulyani regarding the alleged money laundering within the Ministry of Finance.
Mahfud, who acted as the Committee for the National Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU Committee), said that the main referrals of the two came from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
"There is no difference in the data between what was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs as Chairman of the Committee at Commission III of the DPR on March 29, 2023, and what was conveyed by the Minister of Finance at Commission XI of the DPR on March 27, 2023 because the data source submitted was the same, namely the PPATK Analysis Results Data (LHA) for 2009-2023," he said during a press conference in Jakarta, Monday, April 10.
According to Mahfud, the source of the difference is due to the different way of classifying and presenting the data. It was stated that the total LHA/LHP reached 300 letters with a total value of aggregate transactions of Rp. 349 trillion.
Meanwhile, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs listed all LHA/LHPs involving Ministry of Finance employees, both LHA/LHP which were sent to the Ministry of Finance, as well as LHA/LHP which were sent to APH related to Ministry of Finance employees, by dividing them into three clusters.
"Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance only lists the LHA/LHP received, not including the LHA/LHP sent to APH related to Ministry of Finance employees," he said.
Mahfud added, of the 300 LHA/LHP submitted by PPATK from 2009 to 2023 to the Ministry of Finance and to Law Enforcement Officials (APH), some have been followed up.
"But some are still in the process of being resolved, both by the Ministry of Finance and APH," he said.
As a follow-up, Mahfud initiated the formation of a special task force that would start resolving this case from the largest LHP, which was Rp. 189 trillion.
"The Joint Team/Satgas will involve PPATK, Directorate General of Taxes, Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Bareskrim Polri, Pidsus AGO, OJK Supervision Sector, BIN, and Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs," he said.
