The Ministry Of Communication And Information Holds Ngabuburit While Fighting Drugs

The war on drugs should not be slack. The momentum of the month of Ramadan was used by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo) to approach young people. In an event entitled 'Ngabuburit Indonesia Bersinar (Drug Clean)', an art and counseling performance was carried out to fight drugs.

To hold this event, the Directorate of Information and Political, Legal and Security Communications, the Directorate General of Information and Public Communication, the Ministry of Communication and Information involved several parties. They cooperated with the Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) of North Sumatra and the Medan State Polytechnic.

Director of Information and Communication Political, Legal and Security, Kemkominfo, represented by the Head of the Legal Information and Communication Team, Astrid Ramadiah Wijaya, revealed that prevention efforts continue to be carried out collaboratively with BNN. Namely, in terms of providing and disseminating information about the dangers of narcotics and narcotics precursors.

"Through this art show and talk show, it is hoped that it can raise public awareness of the dangers of drugs. A national survey conducted by BNN, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2021 found that the prevalence of narcotics abuse in Indonesia increased by 0.15 percent, especially since the survey showed the prevalence of drug users to be in the age range of 15 - 58 years.

Socialization in fighting drugs for the younger generation also requires a more attractive and thorough way. Drug extensionist of the Madya Expert, BNNP of North Sumatra, Sorangia Sihombing explained that soft power approach needs to be pursued for prevention, especially in educational activities such as on campus. On this occasion, Sorsitua encouraged students to stay away from drugs, be involved in using and even circulating.

Three things that should be owned by the younger generation to stay away from drugs, namely, KEPO or develop potential, BAPER, namely bringing change, and DEBT, namely being superior and tough. Students must become agents of change in accordance with the slogan War on Drugs: Dare to Reject, Dare to Rehab and Dare to Report, "said Sorangia.

On this occasion, a Psychology Lecturer at the University of North Sumatra, Amalia Meutia, also attended who explained about drug addiction from a psychological perspective. According to him, addiction or addiction can be defeated by connection or attachment. So by increasing relationships and communication with other people, it will keep a person away from addiction.

Nature is created to be bound by certain things. If it's a good thing even in bad things. Therefore, we need to be bound by positive things and activities," said Amalia.

Medan State Polytechnic Lecturer, Zakaria Sembiring, also described his experience in terms of discipline while studying when explaining the vision of Medan State Polytechnic.

Declinary discipline is a gap in the entry of drug influences for the younger generation. I would like to appeal to discipline to remain enforced. So, be disciplined with yourself," Zakaria emphasized.

The activity was also attended by Deputy Director 1 of Medan State Polytechnic Roslina and 2020 Anti-Drug Student Ambassador Elvira Dwi Arista who also encouraged young people to participate in the fight against drugs. In addition, the event was enlivened by creative performing arts from young Medan, namely stand-up comedy performances by Syark Muslim and Frans Joel, and closed by music group Apricot.

Around 300 students and the general public attended the 'Ngabuburit Indonesia Bersinar' activity which is expected to contribute to the spirit of anti-drug for other young people. This event was also broadcast live on the YouTube account of the Directorate General of IKP Kominfo. (ADV)
