KAI Asked To Anticipate Passenger Surge During Eid Homecoming 2023
JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI DPR RI Nusron Wahid asked PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to anticipate an increase in passengers during the Eid Al-Fitr homecoming flow. Nusron predicts that this year there will be a surge in passengers due to normal community activities.
This was conveyed in the Ahead of the Hearing Meeting (RDP) with the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) for Transportation at the DPR Building.
My feeling, because people have been hiding (detaining) themselves for a long time for homecoming, this year my tally is 120 percent for trains from 2019, I am worried that if there is a shortage of passengers and piles up on trains, if not anticipated it will cause crowds," said Naston, written Tuesday, April 4.
Nusron said that currently the train is one of the modes of transportation that is popular with the public. So that the public's demand for rail transportation is quite high.
"Now the trend is in the middle class, sir, if you want to go home unless you want to bring your own car and then stop by your brother, if you only have one destination, you must go home for a train," he said.
Furthermore, Nusron revealed three advantages that can be obtained if you use the fire average. One of them is comfort.
"First, it's comfortable, the second can rest, the third is not in a hurry, the station is in the middle of the city," he explained.
For this reason, Nusron asked KAI to increase the portion of KAI's mode of transportation to anticipate the increase in passengers.
"Nataru alone has 6.467 million, even though there are fewer Nataru homecoming people, the impression is entertainment. But if Lebaran homecoming has a spiritual element, maybe you feel it all, so it's more, maybe (passengers) will reach 7.5 million. Therefore, so that this can be anticipated, except for the carriage there is no other story," he said.
