In Addition To Israel's Rejection, The Trauma Of The Governor Of Koster Against The Bali Bombings So FIFA's Consideration Of RI From The Host Of The U-20 World Cup?

PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir revealed a number of reasons that might be considered by FIFA to revoke Indonesia's status as the host of the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

According to Erick, a number of rejections that occurred related to the participation of the Israeli team were seen by FIFA as a form of intervention. This is also what can make Indonesian football get sanctions from FIFA.

"FIFA is the highest authority in world football, of course with all the objections that have been conveyed, of course FIFA sees this as a, if possible, intervention. There are so many FIFAs that punish when there is government intervention (government), but here it is in the form of intervention," Erick said in a press statement monitored via the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Friday, March 31.

In addition, according to Erick, FIFA also sees Indonesia as the host country, unable to provide security. This could be related to the statement of the Secretary General of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, regarding the trauma of the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, against the bomb incident in Legian Bali.

"In the host contract as the country and the host contract as the city that is signed, we guarantee security, one of which is. Of course this may be FIFA's consideration as well," said Erick.

"Of course these considerations are indeed the things how FIFA makes decisions," he continued.

Previously it was reported that Hasto had mentioned other threats at the U-20 World Cup when speaking to journalists while in the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) area, Thursday, March 30. He stated that the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, did not want any risks in his area.

It is known, Bali is a province that was originally prepared as a location for the U-20 World Cup drawing.

"Pak Koster does not want to bear the slightest risk to various forms because reports that are strategic have also been accepted by Pak Koster," he said.

This statement seemed to emphasize what he had conveyed in the CNN TV Indonesia Political Show.

"Pak Koster is still traumatized by the bomb incident in Legian, Badung, Bali. As a leader, he received input on various potential escalation threats," said Hasto, Monday, March 27.

So is it true that FIFA canceled Indonesia as the host of the U-20 World Cup because of their rejection of the Israeli national team? Or is it true that escalation of security is the reason for the current situation that they do not detail?

As a reminder, Bali experienced three bombings on October 12, 2002. Two explosions occurred in nightclubs in the Legian area, Kuta, Bali and one occurred near the office of the United States Consulate General.

As a result of this incident, 203 people died and 209 people were injured. Not only that, the wheels of the economy on the Island of the Gods were also sluggish after the incident.
