Alvin Lim's Son Please Jokowi Intervene Hand In Handling His Father's Case
JAKARTA - Alvin Lim's lawyer, Kate Victoria Lim, asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to intervene in addressing her father's case regarding a fake identity card or ID card.
According to Kate, the legal process against her father must also apply to Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, who is suspected of having legal problems similar to Alvin.
The legal process against Burhanuddin, said Kate, is a manifestation of the principle of equality before the law or that all citizens are equal before the law. Kate claimed to have evidence related to the case.
"I just want President Jokowi to be firm and become a legal commander. My father has made a complaint along with evidence of three different identity data allegedly belonging to Attorney General Burhanuddin. However, he has never been followed up, maybe because Burhanuddin is Jamwas' superior," Kate said in a written statement, Tuesday, November 1.
According to Kate, it is impossible for Jamwas to examine the Attorney General. Therefore, he asked President Jokowi to intervene in handling the case. Moreover, Kate said that the public is currently in a crisis of trust in law enforcement institutions, including the Prosecutor's Office, in it.
"It's time for the President to show authority and fix the law in Indonesia as the supreme commander that we all respect," he said.
Kate voiced out fighting for her father's freedom. In addition to taking to the streets and doing direct speech, the 15-year-old voiced his hopes on social media such as the Uya Kuya artist's YouTube channel, Quotient TV to UI Watch.
Furthermore, Kate also assessed that her father's detention was suspected of violating the Supreme Court's circular. The reason is, Alvin said he had previously been detained in connection with this case in a district court. So that the current detention should not have been carried out.
"This violates a circular from the Supreme Court in 1985 because my father in the district court has been detained, and his detention period has expired. He should have waited for the Supreme Court's inkrah decision, but it was not done and violated," he explained.
Meanwhile, Alvin's attorney from LQ Indonesia Lawfirm, hopes that the Supreme Court (MA) can decide Alvin Lim's release.
"Because we read the file, we don't have any evidence, as the prosecutor claims, they did criminal things. The witness was not there, the evidence was just a photocopy," he said.
Alvin's attorney himself claimed to have applied for a suspension of detention since about two weeks ago. Two conditions, namely the guarantor and the guarantee money, have been ready to be fulfilled. However, these efforts, they said, did not get a response from the Prosecutor's Office as the executor.
